Today, I am sharing my personal reading stack for the year. In 2019, I’m looking to slow down, simplify, and clean things up a little. Hoping this will allow us the time and energy to build relationships and get outside more! Digging deeper into our: Health + Heart + Home. 📚❤️🏠 #mamareads #simpleliving #homeeducation *PS: My color loving heart was a little excited to see how well the book covers coordinated. 😬 #designdork #itsthelittlethings #bookshelfie #motherculture #homebody #girlsclubbook
I have not really done much personal reading since college. But in the last few years, I’ve felt inspired to look for titles that will help my own personal growth as I teach my children. Something about homeschooling rekindled a fire in me to pick up a book again.

The books listed or pictured below are not book recommendations. I simply wanted to share the reading journey I’ve been on since becoming a mother and home educator. I’ll admit, I am a sucker for a pretty book and then dig in and realize you really can’t judge a book by it’s cover. Some titles I’ve loved. Others I did not. Most of these have been very helpful. And some the Holy Spirit has asked me to close. My word for 2019 is discernment. Does this line up with his word? And God has been answering my prayers a lot in this area! He has lead me to words that are true and beautiful, words that reveal or protect, that heal or give life… and away from words that are stumbling blocks in my faith. Have you experienced this? However, I have found this to be true: every book took bravery to write and gives us all a chance to peek inside someone else’s story… and pray for the author whose words are reaching many hearts.
I was gifted a couple of these books, found a few more on Thriftbooks, but most are newer titles that I ordered from Amazon. I’ve read the first one listed, Having a Martha Home the Mary Way, before and it is so good that I am reading it again! But the others are all new to me! What are you reading this year?
PS: I’ll never get through all these in a year. But it will be fun to try!
2019 Book List:
Having a Martha Home the Mary Way
Love Unending: Rediscovering Your Marriage in the Midst of Motherhood
Education: Does God have an opinion?
The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living
