My youngest turned 4 last month. This will be his first year joining us for school. He will be using The Peaceful Preschool and The Good and The Beautiful curriculum. I am also looking into Habitat School House!
The Peaceful Preschool has 26 weeks of instruction (for each letter of the alphabet). It is packed with the sweetest crafts, recipes, and literature. I love the alphabet flashcards included. (It gave me a chance to break in the new laminator! We have reached laminating status in our homeschool.) We will likely sprinkle these activities throughout the week. (We hope to find most of the book list at the library.)
The Good and The Beautiful Pre-k packet has 53 short lessons and includes both letters and numbers, games, and alphabet flip books. He will work twice a week right alongside his sister (age 7). Since she will be reviewing the basics again this year, I feel like he will benefit working at the same time. He is eager to join us this year but only lasts about 10 minutes at a time and then rushes off the play. Baby steps.
He will use Handwriting Without Tears to help with letter formation.
He loves Mother Goose and folk tales… anything with animals!
