Peanut Butter Oatmeal Smoothie

My kids love their peanut butter banana smoothies in the morning. I came across a post where someone mentioned putting oatmeal in smoothies. Why have I never tried this before? I loved the way it thickened it a bit and the best part is my kids loved it too! Even my son loves it and he’s not a big oatmeal fan. This is a great smoothie to whip up when you’re on the go. It is so filling. Note: You can use 1/4 cup of chocolate protein powder in replace of the honey and cocoa… or no chocolate at all! I’ve also used Peanut Butter powder in replace of Peanut Butter. Just use what you have on hand. Unless you’re super picky about the consistency, you really can’t mess this one up. This recipe makes enough for all four of us!

Recipe:
1/2 cup of rolled oats blended
1/2 cup of ground flax (optional)
2 cups of almond milk (1 mason jar)
2 tbs of honey
2 tbs of cocoa powder
2 ripe bananas
3-6 tbs of peanut butter
4 cups of ice (2 mason jars)

I recommend putting the oatmeal in first and blending a quick second before adding other ingredients. This seems to help it mix smoothly with other ingredients.

I was fortunate to have the assistance of super man this morning. He set down his lucky rock long enough to help his mama.
