Party Planning

Ombre Pink Party

I had so much fun planning my daughter’s first birthday. I finally came up with a theme one day after stuffing and folding her rainbow of pink cloth diapers. An Ombre Pink Party!

I was so happy to find even more great ideas off Pinterest. Are you on Pinterest? It is my happy place. I have found so many creative craft ideas and recipes. Now if I could just find more time to create all the things I see on there! I found this cute idea for her invitations from another mommy blogger.

The party was so much fun to plan and super girly. Here are some snapshots from the day.

I’ve been taking pictures of my daughter every month since birth. I put a Picky Sticky sticker on her that says her age before I take the pic.

I decided to make a banner out of the photos. I used different shades of pink paper to give an ombre effect and used her 0-12 month photos and then added the letters to spell Happy Birthday. It turned out cute and was super simple. Not sure why this pic turned out so blurry. Sorry. Need. New. Camera.

I made these ombre pink pom poms with my mother. I followed this tutorial: http://www.marthastewart.com/how-to/tissue-paper-pom-poms-how-to

We only made 2. They turned out so cute, I still havn’t taken them down. I may just leave them up through summer and make new ones for the fall!

The most important part. The food.

A dear friend of mine gave me that sweet elephant. And I found ombre pink napkins at Target. Score!

Birthday girl was everywhere that day. I think she’s going to be a social butterfly. She was so cute in her ruffle dress. You can read more on how I made it here.

Tiny party guests are easy to please. Toys were everywhere!

I found a pack of white bags at Joanns and made thank you labels for their parting gifts. Each bag included a small book and crackers.

Do you love planning parties as much as I do? What themes have you done?
